Dr. Richard Bellacosa graduated from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, completing a two-year podiatric surgical residency at Northlake Community Hospital in Northlake, Illinois.
He is a past president of the Texas Podiatric Medical Association and has served on committees for the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Texas Podiatric Medical Association, the Texas State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners, and the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, as well as local hospital and insurance committees. He has served as a state delegate at the American Podiatric Medical Association’s House of Delegates and has participated in APMA’s annual Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.
He is a diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (formerly the American Board of Podiatric Surgery), a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and a current member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Texas Podiatric Medical Association, and the Bexar County Podiatric Medical Society.
Besides being in private practice with San Antonio Podiatry Associates, P.C., he holds an appointment as an adjunct associate professor with the Podiatry Service of the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
He resides in San Antonio with his wife, Jody, and has three grown children and two grandchildren.
